Development of catalytic asymmetric transformations with an atom-efficiency of 100% is highly desirable from a practical as well as the academic point of view. Design of highly active and enantioselective catalysts is crucially important to achieve this goal. We have studies asymmetric hydrogenation of ketones and imino compounds as well as isomerization of primary allylic alcohols into the β-substituted aldehydes catalyzed by chiral ruthenium(II) complexes with two kinds of ligands.1
