Preparation of Metal Hydroxide Nanosheets through Hydrolysis Reaction of Alkoxylated Layered Metal Hydroxides

Layered metal hydroxide nanosheets have attracted increasing attention as promising materials in energy and environmental fields. However, preparation of metal hydroxide nanosheets basically involves complex intercalation and exfoliation processes, which would disturb their practical applications. Here we report facile preparation of metal hydroxides nanosheets by hydrolysis of alkoxylated layered metal hydroxide. This method is also applicable to the preparation of metal hydroxide nanoparticles by changing the stability of alkoxides.
