1,2-Dicarba-closo-dodecaboranes (o-carboranes), are icosahedral boron-carbon clusters which have rigid bulky structures and high stabilities originating from three-dimensionally delocalized skeleton electrons (Figure 1). In particular, o-carboranecontaining π-conjugated materials have received a great deal of attention because of their unique optical properties such as intense solid-state emission and aggregation-induced emission (AIE) by the suppression of nonradiative deactivation pathway in the solid state.1
