Varieties of FAD dependent glucose dehydrogenases (GDH) have been reported from fungi to bacteria and some are utilized for the enzymes in blood glucose monitoring.1 The insect GDH from Drosophilla melanogaster (DmGDH), also has already been reported, however, its biochemical properties and enzymatic characterization are still limited, and its recombinant production is yet to be reported. Therefore, this study has focused on the recombinant production and characterization of DmGDH.
