Excimers have been investigated in planar structures with well-developed π-conjugation like the complex of [Pt~(II)(ppy)(acac)] (ppy~-: 2-phenylpyridinate; acac~-: acetylacetonate) type, because planar Pt-complexes are good candidate compounds to investigate the intermolecular interactions, which are important for excimer formation1.
