Preparation of Dithiaphosphole Rings Fused Phthalocyanine

Phthalocyanines and related compounds have attracted much attention because of their potential applications to flexible electrochromic displays, field-effect transistors, solar cells, photosensitizers for photodynamic therapy of cancer, and so forth. New phthalocyanines have been explored to develope functional materials, which has stimulated a research field of functional dyes and pigments. Recently, there are ample studies with respect to phthalocyanine derivatives. However, phthalocyanine derivatives condensed with dithiaphosphole rings are rare. Accordingly, we tried to synthesize phthalocyanine fused with the dithiaphosphole ring via removal of o-xylylene groups and generation of octathiolate anions.
