So far, we have been focusing on development of resin-supported peptide organocatalysts for asymmetric reactions. Concerning this, we had previously reported cysteine-containingpeptide- catalyzed enantioselective intramolecular Rauhut-Currier reaction of symmetrical (E,E)-1,9-diphenylnona-2,7-diene-1,9-dione. In case one of the two terminal phenyl groups is replaced with a methyl group, a further cyclization via intramolecular aldol condensation is expected.
