Isoxazoles, five-membered heteroaromatic compounds having N-O bond in the ring, are widely used as useful synthetic intermediates in synthesis of complex natural products and multifunctionalized molecules via their ring cleavage. As a unique feature, it is well known that isoxazoles undergo photolysis with UV irradiation.
