In order to obtain the position information of rice transplanter in the field, the coordinate position of the machine is quickly obtained by triangle based on long-distance flexible cable ranging method, and the precise positioning of transplanter in the field is realized. The flexible cable ranging device consists of a length measuring mechanism and an automatic storage line mechanism. The core device of the length measuring mechanism is an encoder, which is LPD3806-600BM-G5-24G. It is responsible for converting the output pulse signal of the encoder into the distance of the machine in the field; the automatic storage line mechanism is responsible for winding the thread evenly on the winding machine. To obtain the distance of rice transplanter in the field, the field coordinate information can be obtained according to the triangle method. The experimental results show that the length measurement accuracy is high, the robustness is good, which can meet the requirements of the field positioning of rice transplanter.
