Numerical study on the street flooding in Huinan, Pudong District during the various short-duration rainstorm events

摘要

For some years, Huinan has been suffered by the storm waterlogging disaster. To solve this problem, a numerical model by MIKE FLOOD has been set up with the rainfall runoff sub-model by MIKE URBAN, the underground network sub-model by MIKE URBAN, and the overland flow sub-model by MIKE 21. After the validation, the model was adopted to simulate the street flooding under the different drainage systems combined with the designed short-duration rainstorm events in Huinan, Pudong District. And the conclusions were obtained that: however hard it rained, Gongji Road Rain Pump would be the sustainable strategy to alleviate the urban street flooding hazard for the pipe diameters enlarged for the capacity expansion and the flow in the pipe networks drawn timely. As a result, the ponded area would always reduce, and some roads had the shallower or even no overland flood water.
