Single-stage L-band EDFA with high saturation output power and low noise figure

In this paper, we numerically simulate the stable-state behavior in L-band EDFA with fiber grating laser and analyze the physical process of signal amplification in detail. By incorporating a backward pump and optimizing amplifiers' parameters, quantum conversion efficiency improves, saturation output power becomes 21.5 dBm, and noise figure becomes lower than 4.6 dB.
