The effect of resins and asphaltenes on the formation of residue in the course of low-temperature oil treatment with liquefied petroleum gas is studied. Based on the data on the composition of resulted residues and physicochemical characteristics of the refined oil, the optimal conditions for the oil treatment using a liquefied gas are chosen (temperature -25°C and the ratio oil: liquefied gas 1: 3). It is shown by the example of oils with different content of solid paraffins that after their treatment with liquefied gas the amount of residue is from 2.8 to 17.4 wt %. It is found out that resins and asphaltenes contained in the oil have an effect on the process of crystallization of solid paraffins. It is shown that in high paraffin oils, where the content of solid paraffins is 9.3-15.1 wt %, the amount of residue decreases from 17.4 to 8.2 wt % with increase in the ratio of resins/paraffins present in them. In paraffin oils, where the content of paraffins is 5.0-6.9 wt %, the ratio resins/paraffins is roughly the same, but they differ in the ratio asphaltenes/paraffins. An increase in the amount of asphafltenes per unit mass of paraffins contained in these oils leads to a decrease in the amount of precipitate. In addition to dewaxing, the oil deasphaltenization and partial removal of resins occur in the course of oil treatment with liquefied gas.
