Lactogenic protection against porcine epidemic diarrhea virus in piglets following homologous challenge

Immunity to Porcine Epidemic Diarrhea virus (PEDV), whether active or transferred, is poorly understood. The objectives of this study were to 1) characterize the immune response in naive sows following exposure to PEDV utilizing different serologicalassays, and 2) assess lactogenic immunity and protection in piglets subsequently challenged with the homologous strain of PEDV.
