摘要

Circulating concentrations of acute phase proteins (APP) have been used as biomarkers in canine oncology. Increased concentrations have been observed in cancer patients and decreased concentrations are linked to patient remission. In humans, increasedAPP concentrations have been linked with low vitamin D status in several disease states. Low vitamin D status has also been observed in human and canine cancer patients. Therefore, there is the possibility that increased APP concentrations will be linked with decreased vitamin D status in canine cancer patients. The objective of this study was to examine the relationship between blood vitamin D and APP concentrations in healthy dogs and dogs with cancer.
