A mathematical model was derived to analyze the pressure distribution inside porous media with fractures. Then physical experiments were carried out to evaluate the mitigation effects of different chemical agents to release the formation damage caused by fracturing fluid in the process of hydraulic fracturing. The derived model demonstrated that the cross-flow pressure platform from fractures to matrix can be adopted as an important measure of formation damage by injected fluids. The cross-flow pressure together with the flow conductivity was used as the index to optimize the four fracturing damage mitigation agents. The results show that the recipe of Al can improve the fluid flow capacity in the porous media to the best effect.
