Preparation of polylactic acid dispersion with ethyl lactate and its application in yarns

In this article, the dispersion of polylactic acid (PLA) was prepared with dispersant of ethyl lactate. It was used to dip common yarns at appropriate concentration. The performance of PLA dispersion and its membrane formed by drying the dispersion, as well as the performance of the yarns after dipping treatment was tested. Results show that the adhesion of polyester yarn is the best. After dip processing, yarn strength and abrasion resistance increases significantly and hairiness reduces dramatically.
