A series of titanium dioxide/graphene (TiO_2/Gn) composites with different dosages of GO were synthesized using tetrabutyl titanate and GO as the precursors by a sol-gel method. Graphene (Gn) was prepared by a reduction of Graphite Oxide (GO), which was obtained from the oxidation of graphite powder by a modified Hummers method. The crystal structure, morphology, element component and structure were characterized by XRD, SEM, TEM, Roman, XPS and Elemental analysis. Photodegradation of methylene blue was used the detect the photocatalytic activity of TiO_2/Gn composites with different dosages of GO. Results showed that as-prepared TiO_2/Gn with 1.5 wt% addition amount of GO exhibited photodecomposition highest efficiency of 60.12% under UV-Vis light irradiation 45 min, preliminary larger than that of pure TiO, and without photocatalysts. The effects of addition amount of GO and photodecomposition mechanism were discussed.
