The relationship between water pollution and GDP per capita in Heilongjiang Province

摘要

Heilongjiang Province is a major resources province in the northeast of China. The economy grows quickly in recent years, but the environmental quality is bad. In this paper, the 2008 2013 GDP per capita and water pollution index in Heilongjiang Province was analyzed and the Environmental Kuznets Curve has been established. The study found that the Environmental Kuznets Curve in I leilongjiang Province is in the left side of the inverted U-shaped curve and the water pollution is becoming more and more serious with the development of economy. Therefore, the government needs to pay more attention to environmental protection and cleaner production in Heilongjiang Province.
