The increasing growth of data traffic and the popularity of the intelligent terminals lead to the fact that 4G network cannot meet the demand in terms of capacity, speed, and the spectrum. Thereby the fifth generation (5G) mobile communication network comes into being. According to the state-of-the-art research, we propose a potential 5G cellular architecture, and discuss some potential optimization methods for concurrent WLAN Offload/Anti-offload and 3GPP HO Processes which the intra-cell HO case was focused.
