During building strong and smart grid, distribution communication network security control has become one of hot research topics. The multi-level high security architecture is proposed. To realize domain isolation for security, Virtual Private Network (VPN) and private network transversal technologies are analyzed in details including the latest three VPN solutions, four key technologies of VPN with tunneling, encryption & decryption, key management and authentication, and three kinds of Network Address Translation (NAT) solutions. And the solution named as VPN integration with NAT is also discussed. These solutions based VPN and/or NAT can help realize that the internal and external is isolated and is connected so that smooth network evolution is achieved and the network security and scalability is strengthened. At the same time it might be realized sharing public resources and reducing network construction cost.
