Colorectal cancer (CRC) is one of the most common and life-threatening types of malignancies. MicroRNAs (miRNAs) are small non-coding RNAs that regulate gene expression at the post-transcriptional level. We have been suggested that MiR-451, found to be significantly down-regulated in CRC tissues compared with the paracarcinoma tissues, could play a role in the process of CRC. To find genes regulated by miR-451 in tumorigenesis and the development of colorectal cancer, the suppression subtractive hybridization (SSH) method was used to identify different genes expressed in HCT116 cells transferred respectively by empty vector and miR-451 overexpressed vector.
