Surveillance for Stage I Seminoma

Testicular cancer is the most common cancer in men ages 15-35. In many countries, including the United States, Canada and most of Europe, it has increased significantly in incidence over the past thirty years. Most young men who present with testicular cancer will have Stage I disease. Testicular cancer is staged using standard TNM definitions. Stage I cancers include any size testicular primary without spread to other parts of the body. Stage I disease implies negative tumor markers following orchiectomy, and absent adenopathy or soft tissue metastases on chest, abdomen and pelvic CT scans.
