The importance of rice tillering to yield and food security draws great attentionon the relationship among tillering, yield, and morphological characteristics.However, conclusions related to changes of rice tillering and correspondingcharacteristics of DUS test under different temperatures are unavailable to revealthe influence of tillering changes on DUS test. For the first time, this studyresearched the changes of tillering and two tillering-correlated characteristics ofrice DUS test under three conditions with slight temperature difference. Resultsshowed that tillering changes of the three varieties matched with their growinghabit well. Besides, tillering changes were significantly correlated with number ofpanicles, an important characteristic of DUS test, while weight of 1000 fullydeveloped grains, another DUS test characteristic, was relatively stable and freeof temperature fluctuation. Two approaches toward those problems wereprovided, including concentration of DUS test of certain plant genus or species inone DUS test station with fixed growing conditions, and selection ofcharacteristics with good uniformity and stability for DUS test.
