摘要

To our knowledge, there is no recognized gold standard for determiningautomatic regulation of the cerebral blood flow to pinpoint whether the cerebralblood flow autoregulation (CA) is damaged in patients with severe carotid arterystenosis or occlusion. To evaluate the prognosis of stroke, we used transcranialDoppler combined with posture changes to monitor the CBFV on the bilateralmiddle cerebral arteries (MCAs). Our conclusions are that the CA is damaged inpatients with severe carotid artery stenosis or occlusion, and symptomaticpatients have poorer cerebral blood flow autoregulation than asymptomatic ones. The blood flow compensatory mechanism is incomplete, and the supine-standingCBFV changes influence the prognosis of the stroke.
