To explore the effects of problem-based learning (PBL) model in molecularbiology teaching. An experimental study on PBL applied to molecular biologyteaching was conducted in 2008 college students and the effect of teaching wasevaluated by questionnaire and examination analysis. PBL model was proved tobe better than the traditional education model in molecular biology teaching. Theresults of table analysis also showed that PBL model was more suitable to themost students and could intensify their abilities to study independently,comprehend expert knowledge, communicate with others and teamwork and soon. Our results suggested that PBL model could improve the effect of molecularbiology teaching. Compared with the traditional education model, PBL modelwas of significance in modern medical education.
