Cannabinoid receptor 2 (CB2) belongs to a family of class A rhodopsin-like G-protein couple receptors. It predominantly resides in the cells of the immune system and is a primary target for the treatment of immunological disorders(l). High resolution structural studies can give critical insights into the mechanism of ligand binding and signal transduction at the CB2 receptor, allowing for the robust design of targeted therapies. However, large quantities of pure, homogenous and stable protein are required to do this.
