摘要

Flow-mediated dilation (FMD) is the most commonly used noninvasive method for assessing vascular endothelial function. This vasodilation also causes change of mechanical properties for the vascular wall. It suggests that the more useful diagnostic method can be developed if this information is used. In this paper, we proposed a new mathematical model of the blood flow including the variation of mechanical properties based on physiological mechanisms. We simulated two conditions: (1) the constant flow and (2) the pulsatile flow. As a result, we confirmed that the proposed model can simulate the variation of mechanical properties according to the FMD response.
