摘要

This paper provides a self-healing process on LT 11 kV overhead radial distribution network feeders to reduce the interruption of power supply to the consumers. Here it is proposed to deploy smart switches in the distribution system to reduce the interrupted area or consumers. Optimal positioning of smart switches on LT 11 kV radial feeders can improve reliability of power supply by reducing the total time of fault detection, isolation and restoration. In this paper, a new algorithm is developed and presented to determine the optimum location of smart switches to communicate with the controllers in the control room. The proposed scheme is tested by connecting substation feeder ends through tie-switch placed in between them by using ETAP software package and simulation results are included.
