Electric double layer capacitors, which are commonly referred to as supercapacitors, have received much attention during the last few years. Supercapacitors as a rechargeable power source have drawn considerable attention because they provide high power density, high charge/discharge rate and excellent durability. Solid polymer electrolytes (SPE) have received attention in recent years for use in supercapacitors and rechargeable batteries, since they can offer systems to be lighter, safer and more flexible in shape than the liquid electrolyte systems. Particularly, the application of SPE to supercapacitors can lead to high reliability and facile fabrication without the leakage of liquid components.
