According to the literature reports, many research studies have been conducted regarding oil/water separation, which aim to improve permeability, oil rejection and anti-fouling properties. Ju et al. [1] used poly(ethylene glycol)diacrylate (PEGDA) as a coating material on the surface of PSf membranes. Crosslinked PEGDA exhibited high water permeability, rejection and good fouling resistance to oil/water mixtures. Chakrabarty et al. [2] investigated the effect of addition of PEG and PVP on permeate flow and oil removal. Study of Chen et al. [3] showed that using Pluronic F127 as an additive can improve flux and antifouling property for oil/water separation. Also, to enhance the hydrophilic and anti-fouling property of membrane, Zhang et al. [4] added sulfated Y-doped nonstoichiometric zircoinia to polysulfone by sol-gel process. Tyszler et al. [5] reported O2-plasma as an efficient way increasing both flux and fouling resistance when treating waste water for short term; however, they state that further study is required before the goal of increased flux and fouling for long run is achieved.
