摘要

Body-centered cubic (BCC) {112}<111>-type twin is a common substructure ofquenched martensite in Fe-C alloys. Since the twin plays an important role inunderstanding the martensitic transformation mechanism, thus, the twinning structurehas received considerable attention. Transmission electron microscopy (TEM)observations and electron diffraction analysis have been carried out in detail onquenched carbon steels or Fe-C alloys with various carbon content (0.1~2.0 wt.%). Theresults have revealed that the twinned martensite exists in the above composition range,and all twins are the same twin with metastable ω-Fe phase at the twinning boundaryregion.
