The high current demand for fish meal requires the searched of new protein sources alternative to fish meal that can replace in feed for aquaculture, without the drawbacks of vegetable meal. The insect protein is presented as an alternative viable, economical and environmentally sustainable.During 33 days, 108 gilthead sea bream with an initial weight of 9.74±1.03g were maintained in 300 1 tanks (3 tanks by treatment) under natural photoperiod and temperature (22°C) conditions. Three diets were assayed with different percentage of inclusion of pupae and larvae Lucilia sericata (LS) meal in replacement of fish meal (FM) as principal protein source in aquaculture feeding (table I).
