In sturgeon, females are more valuable than males because of caviar production. There are several ways to success induction of sex reversal in fishes. Estradiol 17-0 (E2) is an effective hormone for induces sex reversal. Also there are many researcheson the effects of E2 in teleostean, little is known about this hormone on chondrostean. Therefore, the effects of E2 on growth and survival, cytological and biochemical parameters, carcass compositions, pathological changes in liver tissue and gonads were studied in juvenile Stellate sturgeon (Acipenser stellatus).One hundred and eighty 5-month juvenile Stellate sturgeon with an average weight of 11.7 ± 0.2 g were divided in to 9 tanks with 3 replicate for each treatment (20 fish/tank). The treatments were included 0, 25 and 50 mg E2/kg diet. The duration of theexperiment was considered for 7 months and fish were fed according to their satiation.
