摘要

The biofloc consists of a variety of bacteria, microalgae, protozoans, particulate matters and other micro-organisms, and is assumed to be rich in nutrients and immune stimulant. The previous studies showed that bioflocs give positive effects on the growth and survival of Litopenaeus vannamei. The present authors also found bioflocs to enhance immunity in L. vannamei juveniles. The cell wall components of heterotrophic bacteria which are predominant in bioflocs are known to mediate pro-PO (prophenoloxidase) system in shrimp. This study is to understand effect of bioflocs on immune activity and growth in Kuruma shrimp, M Japonicus.
