Process FAPESP 2010/00825-1 and 2010/05286-1The pacu (Piaractus mesopotamicus) presents some obstacles concerning reproduction in captivity, especially in what concerns the occurrence of females that do not release their oocytes after hormonal treatment. In this way, the main purpose of this studywas to evaluate the possibility of synchronization of the ovarian maturation process in a pacu broodstock using slow release of GnRH implants (Ovaplant~R 150ug - Syndel/Canada).
