The creep and fatigue properties of monofilament play an important role in hernia meshes stability and shape memory.In this work,PVDF monofilament was compared to PP monofilament in regard to creep and fatigue properties under different stresses and elongation rates.The results showed that PVDF monofilament performs lesser creep elongation and fatigue deformation than PP monofilament in different conditions.PVDF monofilament has better tensile stability to reduce the risk of mesh rupture and it offers a possible alternative to PP monofilament for hernia repair.
