Experimental tests were performed to explosively weld three layers of A15056, A16061 and SS304 tubes in one step, using various stand-off distances and explosive ratios. The shape of the interface achieved from metallographic examinations fell roughly into straight, smooth wavy or wavy with some vortex shedding. The results show that the wavelength increases with stand-off distance. The weldability windows for A16061 to SS304, and A15056 to A16061 were developed. Scanning electron microscopy studies show the formation of intermetallic layers in the interface.
