CHAIRMAN welcomed all those present to the ISO Workshop. Traditionally, the host country for the International Sugar Council had the privilege of choosing a topic for the Workshop, which was integrated in the programme for the Council meeting in May.Their Turkish hosts and friends had proposed a topic which was politically sensitive, extremely complex, with far-reaching economic and social implications for all parties involved, directly or indirectly.
