Geological Survey of Canada (GSC) (Sanford, 1969) and Ontario Geological Survey (OGS) (Armstrong & Dodge 2007) both previously mapped the top of bedrock in southern Ontario. Since then, thousands of wells have been drilled, and as a result, many top of bedrock picks reported from the petroleum wells in Ontario do not match with the GSC and OGS maps. Existing bedrock maps published by the GSC and the OGS have been combined with the data archived and curated by the Oil, Gas and Salt Resources (OGSR) Library to create an updated Paleozoic subcrop map of southwestern Ontario. The revised map has identified new areas of interest and sparked innovation for new projects to continue refining the geologic data of Ontario.
