Tephra-Paleosol Sequences of the Trans-mexican Volcanic Belt: A Paleopedological Record of late Quarternary Environmental Change in the Central Mexican Highlands

Soils buried in Late Quaternary tephra series of volcanoes within Transmexican Volcanic Belt present a unique paleopedological record of paleoenvironments of Central Mexican Highlands, providing resolution comparable with most detailed loess-paleosol sequences: 6-7 pedostratigrafic units were developed over the last 100,000 years in the sections Nevado de Toluca and Tlaxcala.
