For the overall goal of forming teams for high performance, this study focuses on individual team members' perception of other team members, and how this perception might impact individual and team performance. The hypothesis is that task relevant or social behaviors of members within a Weapon Directors team are shaped by each member's perception of other team members' characteristics such as gender, age, personality traits, cognitive skills and task relevant skills and experience. This paper summarizes an experiment designed to test this hypothesis and presents a selected set of experimental results related to an individual's perception of task, and of other individual's characteristics - age and gender.
