Performance Analysis of Transaction Processing Systems with TP Monitor

The performance modeling and quantitative analysis of a complex information system are of immense importance towards the establishment of an integrated business infrastructure and e-business applications. In this paper, we provide an extensive analysis of the integrated components of middleware and hardware architectural features of servers including server processes, CPU, disk I/O, and communication delays. We present a set of detailed queueing models to analyze system behavior and predict the performance measures in Transaction Processing (TP) systems with a TP monitor managing the system and handling transactions.
