摘要

This paper discusses driver interactions with a low-speed range adaptive cruise control (ACC) system with functionality to stop the vehicle automatically. It is shown, through cognitive experiment with a PC-based driving simulator, that control logics that are adopted when the ACC system loses sight of a target vehicle to follow must be designed with care so that they can support drivers to develop proper mental models of the ACC system.
