Research and Prediction on China-Thailand Economic and Trade Relations under the Background of “One Belt One Road”

Trade in goods has always played an active role in global economic growth. On the one hand, it can improve the economic structure of a country and accelerate the process of industrialization; on the other hand, it can promote domestic technological progress, economic growth, and drive domestic employment. Therefore, studying the volume of trade in goods between the two countries has important practical significance for the economic development of them. This article intends to study the current situation of Sino-Thai trade under the background of the “One Belt and One Road”, selecting annual relevant data for a total of 21 years from 1998 to 2018, and using the GM (1, 1) model to predict bilateral trade in goods in the next five years. It is found that the volume of goods trade between the two countries has steadily increased, showing a positive trend.
