Acid-base properties of the Pt-containing catalysts based on unpromoted and molybdenum-promoted alumina were compared with their catalytic activity in dehydrocyclization of n-heptane. The introduction of Mo in the Pt/Al_2O_3 catalyst was shown to decrease the total concentration of Lewis acid sites and sites of moderate strength. The catalyst stability increased with the introduction of molybdenum. The optimal molybdenum content for modification of the Pt/Al_2O_3 reforming catalyst was found to be 0.04-0.06 wt.%.
