Matrix metalloproteinases (MMPs) plays an important role in the regulation of invasion and metastasis of tumor cells. Inthis work, an inhibitory peptide of MMP-2 and MMP-9 was conjugated to gold nanoparticle as an inhibitor to MMP-2and MMP-9 to improve chemical and physical stability. The results were proved that this nanoparticle showed inhibitionon the enzymatic activity of MMP-2 and MMP-9, and significantly inhibited the migration and invasion of tumor cells invitro. This gold nanoparticle can be functioned as an inhibitor with a more pronounced inhibitory effect on invasion andmetastasis of tumor.
