Different BIM Levels During the Design and Construction Stages on the Example of Public Utility Facilities

BIM technology is connected with using information incorporated in the models of the designed buildings. In many cases using a multi-discipline BIM is not possible. In public utility facilities it is linked with the specific nature of such commissions, economical and logistics factors which are independent from the designer. Moreover, at the stage of construction, even a very well-done 3D model of any object will inevitably require numerous corrections and alterations of introduced data and geometry of particular elements. From the architect's point of view adequate support offered by software and appropriate use of maturity levels in BIM technology allows the designer for fast coordination and information management in the 3D model which is especially useful in the context of public tender commissions and designer's supervision throughout the construction stage.
