Mangrove Forest Community Structure in Ekas Buana Village, East Lombok Regency, West Nusa Tenggara

Mangrove forests are one of the important ecosystems in the beach area that are widely used by the surrounding population. Excessive use can reduce the diversity of mangrove forests. The objective of this research was to study the community structure of mangrove forests in Ekas Buana Village, East Lombok Regency. Research with surveys at 5 stations was determined by purposive sampling, from October to December 2018. The results of the study found 6 types of mangrove species, namely Sonneratia alba, Avicennia marina, Rhizophora mucronata, Rhizophora stylosa, Rhizophora apiculata, and Ceriops decandra. The type of mangrove that dominates the tree level in this study is Sonneratia alba with Importance Value Index (IVI) 114.40%. The level of sapling and seedling was dominated by Rhizophora apiculata species with IVI values of 84.31% and 91.10% respectively. The results of measurement of environmental parameters such as salinity (5.2‰), temperature (30°C), and pH (7.53) indicated that they are still very supportive for mangrove growth in Ekas Buana Village. This shows that mangrove conditions have not experienced significant changes.
