Flexible electronics offers opportunities for greatly expanding the ability to probe the environment with distributedsensors that can be incorporated into the Internet of Things (IoT). This promise is embodied by “peel-and-stick”labels with advanced functionality that can be easily deployed on structures or the body and integrated intoanalytical systems. Recent progress in materials, devices, and fabrication techniques, together with everadvancingelectronics capabilities has enabled the demonstration of new sensors and prototype systems thatprovide insight into the trajectory of this technology.
