Fixed reactive monomer on the PI side chain to simplify the UV process in PS-VA technology

摘要

We fixed reactive monomer (RM) on the side chain of Polyimide (PI), successfully removed the UV2 process, and named as Surface Control Vertically Aligned (SC-VA) technology. At present, Polymer Stabilized Vertically Aligned (PSVA) technology need long time irradiation (UV2 process) to remove residual RM, to ensure good reliability performance. The liquid crystal alignment process of SC-VA same as PSVA, the panel is applied voltage, meanwhile, irradiated by UV light. Reliability performance is excellent although bypass UV2 process. The contrast ratio potential improved because of smooth PI surface.
